Created by renowned British glass artist Graeme Hawes for our studio, this striking Deep Cut Slice hollow glass sculpture explores colour, light and form in equal measure. Almost egg-shaped in silhouette, the piece contrasts a smooth, flowing surface with a dramatically multifaceted side, allowing the glass to constantly transform as it catches and refracts the light.

Blown in layers of clear glass infused with warm brown, vibrant yellow and rich teal blue, the sculpture reveals an ever-changing interplay of colour. The hollow form enhances the luminosity of the glass, allowing light to travel through the piece and intensify its jewel-like appearance. Viewed from different angles, the tones merge to create flashes of luminous green, giving the piece a dynamic, shifting presence.

Both sculptural and tactile, this Deep Cut Slice is a beautifully balanced work that showcases Hawes’ mastery of blown glass and his fascination with optical effect, texture and depth.
