Created by renowned British glass artist Graeme Hawes exclusively for our studio, this Deep Cut Slice contemporary hollow blown glass sculpture combines sculptural form with striking optical colour effects. Almost round in shape, the piece features a richly multifaceted exterior that captures and refracts the light from every angle.

Layers of clear glass are infused with vibrant green, orange, yellow and blue tones that shift and blend as the sculpture is viewed from different perspectives, creating a constantly changing interplay of colour, light and depth. The hollow form enhances the luminosity of the glass, allowing light to travel through the piece and intensify its radiant, jewel-like appearance.

Part of Hawes’ Deep Cut Slice series, the sculpture explores the relationship between light, movement and perception through precisely worked surfaces and richly layered colour. Both tactile and visually dynamic, it beautifully demonstrates his mastery of blown glass and fascination with optical illusion.
