Large Colourful 'Deep Cut Slice' Sculpture

Created exclusively for our studio by renowned British glass artist Graeme Hawes, this striking Deep Cut Slice contemporary blown glass sculpture captivates with its bold colour palette, dramatic optical depth and sculptural presence. Larger and more rounded in form, the piece showcases Hawes’ signature multifaceted cutting technique, featuring a rich brown exterior that beautifully contrasts with the vivid ribbons of blue, orange and red flowing through the glass, illuminated by subtle flashes of green.

Expertly hollow blown and precision cut, the sculpture transforms in changing light, with every angled facet catching, reflecting and refracting colour from different perspectives. The deep cut surface creates an ever-shifting interplay of tone, movement and luminosity, while the layered interior colours appear suspended within the clear crystal glass, giving the piece exceptional depth and brilliance.

Part of Hawes’ celebrated Deep Cut Slice series, this contemporary art glass sculpture explores the relationship between light, form and perception through masterful craftsmanship and richly layered colour. Both tactile and visually dynamic, it is a powerful statement piece for collectors of contemporary British studio glass and modern sculptural art.

A captivating centrepiece for interiors, the sculpture’s earthy brown outer form combined with vibrant jewel-like colours creates a sophisticated balance of warmth, energy and optical intrigue.
